{Dorset Wedding Photography} Highcliffe Castle & The Three Tuns Inn – James & Kate

Happy New Year everyone!  As my first blog post for 2015, I’m very happy to share with you James & Kate’s beautiful, rustic, vintage, festive extravaganza!

Now I love Christmas, but a wedding close to Christmas is very exciting!  Not only have you got the beautiful buzz of excitement that generally comes with weddings, but you also have the lovely warm, fuzzy festive feel of Christmas, which is all in all a great combination!

James & Kate are such a lovely couple, we had great fun on their pre-wedding shoot out in the New Forest, where I got to know them better as a couple.  They were so approachable and content in each others company, which always makes my job so much easier!  I could tell by just talking to them about the style of their wedding, that it was going to be beautiful! I was particularly looking forward to this wedding as both Highcliffe Castle and The Three Tuns was where my husband and I were married 4 years ago!

Highcliffe Castle looked stunning, with its grand Christmas Tree in the Winter Garden Ceremony room.  The Groom and Groomsmen looked very dapper in their navy suits and brown shoes, perfectly complimented by the beautiful bridesmaids in silver.  Kate wowed the guests with her gorgeous vintage gown, she really did look stunning, with her beaming smile lighting up the room!

The Three Tuns welcomed everyone into the warmth of the barn, where the Hyde Band were playing wonderful Christmas Carols.  James actually plays in the Hyde band so it was a lovely touch to have his friends there as part of the wedding.  The styling of the wedding was stunning, with the marquee twinkling with fairy lights and dressed with rustic hearts , ivy, a variety of lovely flowers, including cream coloured poppies, thistles and mistletoe!

Kate’s mum had been heavily involved with the decor, such as the bunting, I always think it adds a really special touch when families are involved in the pulling together of a wedding.  I loved the grey and peach coloured macaroon tower , which was a genius alternative to a wedding cake!

One of my favourite parts of being trusted to be involved with a couples wedding day, is capturing relationships and emotions, seeing beautiful friendships and family bonds.  James & Kate are fortunate to have such lovely families and wonderful friends, it was a pleasure to see.
