{Family & Newborn Photography Bournemouth} – The Henderson’s

I have a really lovely post to share with you today.  I know Darren & Lucy from when we were all at Bournemouth Uni, which scarily was 12 years ago!  Although we live near by, we haven’t bumped into each other for several years, but have stayed in touch via Facebook.

It was so great to hear from Lucy when she contacted me recently to book a Bump to Baby package.  The pregnancy shoot she wanted to have some special shots with her 3 year old daughter Maisy and her bump, to record the precious time before baby Eva arrived and also to record some lovely moments with Maisy whilst it was still just the two of them!

The shoot was so much fun, as you will see, lots of cuddly and giggly moments!  Maisy was so well behaved and relaxed in her own surroundings, not to mention excited about the arrival of her little baby brother or sister!

Often as mummies, we are behind the camera, so I know Lucy will really cherish these photos of her and Maisy having a great time together.

And then a few weeks later, beautiful little Eva arrived!!!  She is such a bundle of cuteness and Maisy is clearly a very proud big sister!!

Darren & Lucy decided to have their family session at home, which was perfect as they could create a lovely warm environment for Eva, and Maisy was happy being surrounded by her toys (& bribery biccies! he he!!).  Sessions at home, particularly with really young babies work really well as you can feel the closeness and intimacy of those precious few weeks at home with your new baby.

In the early days of being home with your baby, sadly a lot of people don’t think about having a shoot as looking after a newborn is clearly quite time consuming not to mention you probably don’t feel at your best with sleepless nights.  Ironically though,  it’s one of the best times to photograph, as it will all seem a blur a few weeks, months, years later.  You will forget how teeny tiny they were!!  I barely put the camera down when I had my little girl, but I can’t explain to you how much I treasure those photographs!

I feel so privileged to have the chance to record these moments for young families and be welcomed into their homes at such a private time.
